McKee's Holiday Gratitude Gathering/Open House

The THS Band Program volunteers are the reason we can do all the terrific things we do, and I am very grateful for all of you, present and past. If you are or have been an adult THS Band volunteer, I hope you can drop by this Friday evening between 6 and 9pm and enjoy some seasonal munchies - we might even break out the panini machine again!

Christmas Eve Handbells!

Looking for a nice way to spend 45 minutes on Christmas Eve? Join us at Newberg Friends (just 20 minutes from Tigard!) for a wonderful candlelight service full of music, including handbells. Never heard handbells? Then you should definitely come! Musicians include Liz, Eryn,  Phil (yes, Phil!), and me - whoopee! We're very casual and friend-ly, so come on by this evening at 5, 6:30, or 8 pm.

West on Hwy 99, on to the one-way in Newberg. Left on College Street. Newberg Friends is on the corner of College and 3rd.

Come hear great holiday music! And it's free!

Cadet Student and Parent Meeting!

Remember, those interested in Cadet Drumline can come to the THS Band Room Wednesday evening Dec. 7 at 7pm to learn all about the season and meet Jen Burns, our new Cadet instructor!

Current Events Final - Exemption!

A short story.

On occasion, some who are exempt have eaten breakfast, or sometimes lunch. When breakfast has been eaten, breakfast has been over by 9am, or 10:30. And when lunch has been eaten, lunch has been over by 2:15.

After football Load equipment truck – go home RIGHT AWAY and SLEEP!

Saturday

6:50 am          Arrive THS in bib, black pep tee, black socks and marching shoes (waterproofed and polished !!). Get uniform jacket from rack. Full uniform (minus shako) will be worn on the bus. Check for shako, plume, and instrument. Bring lots of warm and dry extra clothes!!

7:20 am            In the band room, dressed and ready !! Everyone, please use the toilet before we leave! Load the bus in order (seniors, drumline, auxiliary, jr, so, fr)

7:30 am            Leave

8:00 am            Arrive Hillsboro Stadium – unload very quickly. Set up props – correctly!!

8:25 am            Line up w/ instruments ready to go to warm-up area

8:30 – 9:35       Warm-up

9:42 am            Ready Gate

9:52 am          Showtime !!

10:15 am        Listen to staff, then change your clothes – put your uniform away CAREFULLY! Stow your instrument/equipment correctly!

10:30 am        Eat a snack, and head to the stands!

11:00 am – 3:00 pm   In the stands, watching bands. Lunch on your own – pack it, or purchase from concessions.

3:20 pm            Awards!                                                                                                            

3:30 pm             Eat a small snack, and get dressed for Finals!                                                       

4:15 pm - ??    Warm-up

5:??? ish        Ready Gate

5:??? ish           Showtime !!

6:??? pm         Change your clothes/load truck

Remember, you come with the band, stay with the band,

11:45 am       Arrive McKenzie Stadium – unload very quickly. Large winds, pit, drumline, auxiliary w/ McKee

                      Get dressed!

12:10 pm       Line up w/ instruments ready to go to warm-up area

12:15 – 1:30  Warm-up

1:37 am         Ready Gate

1:48 pm         Showtime !!

2:00 pm         Take a picture!

2:10 pm         In the stands, watching OMB! And cheese!

2:40 pm         Awards!                                                                                                           

3:15 pm         Warm-up

10 min later          Showtime !!

20 min later          Change your clothes

·         Travel southbound on I-5 approx 97 miles

·         Take Exit 194B  - I-105 W (Eugene)

·         Take Exit 2 – Coburg Road

·         Stay RIGHT, on the Coburg Road ramp

·         Cross Coburg Road and bear LEFT onto Southwood Lane

·         Turn LEFT onto Country Club Road

·         At light, turn RIGHT onto Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.

·         Travel ½ mile – turn RIGHT onto Leo Harris Parkway

          Remember, you come with the band, stay with the band,
