A Little Band Work Over the Winter Break

It's been an eventful couple of weeks in the McKee household, what with the falling-while-running-in-the-dark, crashing-to-the-ground, cut-face/stitches-and-concussion, multiple-running-light-gifts-for-Christmas, lots-of-resting-and-recovery Winter break.

Now it's time to do a little catch-up, so check out the GBX/BBX Concessions needs below and let's see if we can get the whole calendar completed, so that we don't have to worry about it.

Here's what is needed:
  • Friday 1/15 - 1 or 2 Adults
  • Tuesday 1/19 - 2 Adults
  • Friday 1/22 - 1 Adult
  • Friday 2/12 - 2 Adults
  • Tuesday 2/23 - 2 Adults
To see the entire GBX/BBX Calendar, click on the link on the sidebar to the right.

To sign up for a shift, email McKee by clicking HERE

Let's get this done!

Winter Break Is Almost Here!

It's the last few days before we depart from each other for a couple of weeks, so we'd better have a concert before we leave!
Here are the details:
  •  It's on Thursday Dec. 17, at 7:30 pm
  • 6:45 call time
  • Wear the type of outfits as directed by Irving
  • Wear festive socks!
  • Make sure you eat before you come - food is fuel for good performances
  • Drink LOTS of water between now and then - hydration is the best!
Make sure you tell your family and friends to come - it's going to be a great evening!

Basketball Concessions - Tuesday December 15

This is a really easy week for concessions - only one game! There is one change, though - because of an obligation with my 95-year-old father-in-law, I will be opening the stand at 4:30 and it will be operable by 5, so that I can get on my way. So if everyone can be there by 5 at the latest, I can make sure everything is set and still take care of my father-in-law.

Here's the crew:
Students - Lauren D, Xander D, Caroline E
Parents - Wendy D, Elizabeth E

Signups for the rest of the season will be available at Thursday's concert - yay!

We have one crucial need with concessions this week. We MUST have an adult step up to work the game Tuesday 12/8. Everything else looks really good, but we do not have an adult yet for Tuesday. The shift is scheduled from 5 - 9:30, but the adult can arrive as late as 6 and it will be fine. Please, be that person who steps up to take a shift Tuesday.

Tuesday 12/8: Students - Sophia C, Sehiri R, Heidi G
Adult: ??

Wednesday 12/9: Students - Matthew W, Ben B, Harsha R
Adults - Donica W, Andrea B

Friday 12/11: Students - Sam H, James D, Connor C
Adults - Shari H, Julia D

Please email McKee to volunteer for Tuesday's shift!

Wednesday Is A Busy Day!

Hey Band! (hey, what?)

**Remember that we have parade practice after school today, from 3-4. If you're in town the day after Thanksgiving, it is expected that you'll parade with us. Remember, we get paid to be there!

**Also, remember that the November Band Booster meeting is this evening in the THS Library at 7pm, and the third Disney payment will be taken tonight.

We'll also talk about a completely different way to keep our program going financially (you'll like it, I promise!), and we'll celebrate our fantastic NWAPA Class A Championship Four-peat with cake! Yay!

Football Playoffs - Week 2!

It's time for more football! This time, we're taking on our neighbors over in Sherwood, and it should be epic. It may also be wet, so we'll see about getting our big garage put up for us to use for shelter.
Here's the info:
  • The game is Friday, November 13, at Sherwood High School.
  • As we did last week, there will be no food break. Please make sure you eat before you come, and feel free to bring along a snack and water.
  • Make sure your clothes are appropriate for a wet fall evening.
  • Call time is 5:45, and the bus will pull out at 6pm. Be there.

Football Playoffs Are Here!

Are you ready for some football?! The Tigard High boys will be competing against the Awesome Eagles of Centennial High School this Friday November 6, at Centennial. And when it's time for playoffs, we travel! Come prepared to pep, pep, pep the night away! Here are the details:
  • Temperatures are supposed to be in the 40s at gametime, so dress warmly. Pep shirts over a hoodie and polypro under your clothes might be a really good idea. Hats or earmuffs are encouraged.
  • Eat before you come - we will NOT be taking a food break during the game, because we are there to support our boys.
  • The bus will leave at 5:30. Call time is 5:15.
  • Bring your instrument, and pep folders.
See you Friday!
