Let's Eat!

It's time for the End-of-Band-Camp Picnic - yay! We really want every parent-type that can possibly be here to come Friday August 23, and we'll begin at 6pm.
 
The Boosters will provide the burgers, hotdogs, drinks, dessert, and plates/utensils.
We need some Booster dads and/or moms to help with the grilling. We have 1 large grill, but we could use one more, plus some burger flippers. Can YOU help? If so, send an email to McKee!


And it's very helpful for each family to pitch in with some food.

After we eat, we'll have a short meeting to discuss our plans for the coming year and to share how everyone can help THS band kids have a great musical experience. Bring your appetite and your questions.

Balloon Festival Hours - REVEALED!!!

Hey, remember all those hours some of you worked doing either security monitoring or soccer concessions during this summer's Balloon Fest? Well, Petie and Kip the Banker Cats have totaled and posted all those hours on the sidebar for you to see. YAY!

Now remember, each hour worked is worth $5.00 to your Band Account. So check out the chart and see how much YOUR account gained by working at the Balloon Festival, and get ready to fill out a transfer sheet if you want some/all of that $$ to pay for your fees.

Band Garage Sale = $$ For Us!!!

Hello friends - 

The amazing Tigard High Band Garage Sale is this week - yay! We'll make bank on this two-day sale, but we need some specific help to pull it off:
  • Parents! We need adult-type people 
    • Thursday evening 5-8
    • Friday morning 7-9 (MOST # OF ADULTS NEEDED HERE)
    • Friday during the day
    • Saturday morning 7-9
    • Saturday during the day
  • Students! We need band students WHO ARE NOT IN MARCHING BAND
    • Thursday evening 5-8
    • Friday during the day
    • Saturday morning 7-9
    • Saturday morning during the day 
    • (Marching students will work with adults to handle Friday setup 7-9. And then go out and rehearse for 8 hours.)
  •  Cleanup Crew! We need a crew of Adults and Students to pack up what's left at 3pm Saturday and take it to Caring Closet and Goodwill. People who are NOT Michelle and Jeri. Or McKee. Really.
  • Tables! We need many MANY tables on which sale items will be displayed. 4' tables, 5' tables, 6' tables - all are helpful.  Dropped off Thursday evening and picked up Saturday late afternoon.
  • Bake Sale items! This is a terrific part of our sale and Michelle will be sending out a Google group email about specifics. Just think about that item YOU can make to donate - yay for Bake Sale!

The Garage Sale benefits the entire Band program - Jazz, Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Techniques, Marching, WG, and WDL - so EVERYONE should help! Unless you're out of town or ill (remember, that includes ALL adults and ALL non-marching students), we assume you'll be coming.

Are You Ready For Some Band Camp?!?

Hey friends - Band Camp is just around the corner, and this cat is already on the way!
If YOU plan to be part of the great 2013 Tigard High Marching Ensemble, you need to be at Band Camp beginning Monday August 12. Doors open at 8:30am, and we will start promptly at 9am. What do you need to bring?
  • Yourself (rested and well-fed)
  • A good attitude
  • Your instrument/equipment
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Lunch
  • WATER
Remember, Band Camp runs 9-5, M-F, August 12 - 23.
