Time To Sign Up!

Hey folks - it's time to make your intentions known! Your Fall MB design staff will be meeting this Wednesday to work on plans for the upcoming season, so we need YOU to add your name to the MB Signup Sheets in the Band Room! We have some really excited incoming freshmen, and even a couple of 8th graders who will be joining us, so make sure YOUR name is on the list! (And if you have musical friends you can persuade to join, please do so!)

The sooner we know what our numbers are, the sooner we can get things together for you!

 

MANDATORY BAND MEETING!!

It's time for the big Tigard Band MANDATORY MEETING!

Yes friends, every year in May we get together and get all the great information about what will be happening in the world of THS Band for the coming months - and that time is NOW! We're talking about Concert, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Jazz, Marching, Winter Guard, Winter Drumline - every single band entity at good ol' Tigard High.

And what will we discuss?

• Band classes!
• Concerts!
• Balloon Festival (coming up in June!)
• Tualatin Crawfish Festival (July!)
• The Famous THS Band Garage Sale (August!)
• Patreon (all the time!)
• Band Camp!
• Football Pep!
• Marching shows! 
• Night of the Livin' Blues!
• Macy's Day-After-Thanksgiving Parade!
• Basketball Pep!
• Craft Fair (December!)
• And so much more...

Wednesday May 18, 7pm, at Tigard High. Bring your parents, bring your friends who would be great in band, and bring yourself.

The Great THS Band Can and Bottle Drive!

This week is our Spring Can and Bottle Drive - whoo hoo!

By now, you have signed up to work this Saturday April 23, or to work this week distributing fliers. 

It is YOUR JOB to make sure you know when you are going to work, to show up to work, and to do YOUR JOB.

And then we get all the monies.

12:45 pm               Arrive THS – gather batterie drums and props

1:00 pm                 Load bus – leave

2:00 pm                 Arrive McMinnville High School – unload bus and meet Mike for instruments and warmup

2:30 pm                 Doors open to the public

3:00 pm                 All units in the stands – watch OCI!

3:20 pm                 Tigard Cadet performs!

After                     Back in the stands, watching other groups

                             (Make sure to hit the concession stand and get some good food! And enter the “fastest drummer” contest! And buy a raffle ticket!)

5:20 pm                 Raffle prizes and “fastest drummer” contest winner announced

5:40 pm                 Watching OCI again!

6:00 pm                 MASS DRUMLINE JAM! So much fun!

6:30 pm                 All done now – load the bus and head back to THS

7:30ish pm            Arrive THS – unload and go home!

** All groups help each other on/off the floor

**All groups should watch all other groups

** All groups can warm up on the floor

Directions to McMinnville High School

• Travel 24 ½  miles SOUTH on Hwy. 99W to McMinnville
• Turn LEFT onto NE Evans
• McMinnville High School is on the LEFT, between NE 17^th and NE 15th

Remember, you come with the group and stay with the group.

No going off-site for any purpose, with anyone other than us.
