Each year, the Tigard High Band and Orchestra program hosts RhythmFest, the NWAPA Color Guard Premiere show, which provides a color guard clinic and competition all in one day at the beginning of the Winter Guard season. Our show is on February 21, and ALL band and orchestra students will participate in running the show. We take over the entire school and even have real-time closed circuit broadcasting of the performances on the big screen in the Commons - it's super-cool! We have a great reputation for putting on a terrific and welcoming show, and as of this post, we have 25 groups coming - wow!
(McKee, what will WE do at RhythmFest??)
There are so many different things involved in hosting:
- Selling tickets to spectators
- Monitoring warmup areas
- Managing access in and out of the performance area
- Selling food concessions
- Bringing refreshments to judges
- Setting up
- Cleaning up
- Directing traffic
- And more!
Each band and orchestra student will be responsible for working two (2) shifts (and of course, you can ALWAYS sign up for more!) And we need many (MANY!) of your adults as well. The sooner you sign up, the more choices you will have, so let's do this!
