Bands of America - Northwest!



Bands of America Northwest

Saturday October 12, 2013

Friday
4:00 pm           Load truck

Saturday
10:00 am         Arrive THS in uniform incl. black pep tee, black socks and marching shoes (waterproofed and polished !!). Full uniform (minus shako) will be worn on the bus. Check for shako, plume, and instrument. Bring warm and dry extra clothes!! And socks!!
10:10 am         Eat a nifty snack (thanks, Band Boosters!)
10:25 am         In the band room, dressed and ready !! Everyone, please use the toilet before we leave! Load the bus in order (seniors, drumline, auxiliary, jr, so, fr/8th)
10:30 am         Leave
11:00 am         Arrive Hillsboro Stadium – unload very quickly. Large winds, pit, drumline, auxiliary to the truck
11:35 am         Line up w/ instruments ready to go to warm-up area
11:45 am – 12:40 pm   Warm-up
12:45 pm         Ready Gate
1:00 pm           Showtime !!
1:30 pm           Change your clothes – put your uniform away CAREFULLY! Stow your instrument correctly! Head to the stands
1:45 – 3:30 pm   In the stands, watching bands. And eat a sack lunch, or something nutritious purchased from the Concessions Stand.
3:45 pm                                                                                                                       Awards!           
4:00 pm           Have some cheese! And a little fruit!                                                                  
4:30 pm           Get dressed
4:45 pm           Warm-up
5:?? pm            Ready Gate
6:?? pm            Showtime !!
6:?? pm            Change your clothes/load truck
After loading    Eat dinner!  (Hot dinner may be purchased from the Band Boosters for $6 - what a deal!)
7:30 – 9:00 pm  
Watch more bands
9:15 pm           Awards!!
10:15 pm         Arrive at THS – unload truck - go home!!

  • Hwy. 26 west to Exit #62A  - Cornelius Pass/West Union Road
  • Veer right (south) onto Cornelius Pass Road - stay in right lane
  • Right onto Imbrie Dr. (stoplight /Chevron Station)
  • Right onto Evergreen Parkway (stoplight)
  • Right onto NW 229th Ave. (stoplight)

Remember, you come with the band, stay with the band,
and go home with the band. No going off-site for any purpose.

Next Disney Payment Due This Week!

Are YOU signed up to go on the Spring Break Performance Tour? Make sure you turn in your 2nd payment THIS WEEK, no later than Friday Oct. 4.

Remember,  all payments/transfers are turned in to Liz Wood at the THS Library on any day, during 2nd lunch or during passing time between 3rd and 4th.

Hi Mom! We're On TV!!!

The Tigard/Tualatin football game on Friday October 4 (next week) has been selected as the Game O' the Week for KATU - yay! And what that means to us is, assuming we win, KATU will broadcast their High School Blitz program LIVE from Tigard High that night, and we'll be the in-house band! Double yay! High School Blitz airs LIVE from 11:30 - 12 midnight. Yes, that's really late, but it's ok - we can all sleep in on Saturday. Yes, even Marching Band, because our competition prelim performance isn't until mid-afternoon!

Call time for Friday's TV performance will be 11 pm. Hey, maybe we can get some nice people to buy pizza for us! If so, we'll probably get  together around 10:30. (And BTW, if for some strange reason Tigard DOES NOT WIN, we WILL NOT be on TV - Tualatin will. That is a very remote possibility. This website and Facebook will be updated with game results that night.)

To make sure we're able to get everything done that we need to, pit members will meet at THS at 3:30 to load the trailer and truck for the Southridge show. (We'll plan to load the rest of the instruments - drums, large horns, etc - Saturday before we leave. Southridge schedule will be posted soon.)

If you CAN NOT come to the TV performance, please send McKee an email. That way, we'll know what our instrumentation looks like.
