Travel Expectations

Besides the standard expectations, responsible band students will engage in the following behavior while on an overnight trip with the Band:

  1. Maintain the published schedule at all times
  2. Pack what is necessary, but don’t over-pack
  3. Remember essentials, such as toothpaste and toothbrush, deodorant, prescription medicine, and other hygiene essentials
  4. Ensure that McKee knows of any and all medicines you have with you
  5. ALWAYS travel in groups of three or more
  6. DO NOT visit any motel room assigned to someone who is not you, for ANY reason.
  7. Use quiet voices always within the motel area – and walk, don’t run
  8. Be the model of traveling decorum, bringing no shame but only praise to Tigard High
  9. Refrain from phoning, texting, etc. after lights-out
  10. Arise promptly when scheduled
  11. Be ready when scheduled
  12. Keep messes to a minimum
  13. Patronize lunch restaurants only on the approved list
    1. Always be polite and act in the most excellent manner in the restaurant
    2. ALWAYS tip, at least 15%
  14. Go about in groups of 3 or more – no lone rangers or couples. Even before, during, and after Dinner.
  15. Act appropriately with significant others and toward all people – do not cause those around you to feel uncomfortable with your actions.
  16. Express gratitude to the adults (parents and others) who help make this all happen.
  17. Uphold the standards of Tigard High Band and Color Guard at all times, and present yourself with pride and graciousness
