Thanks to all who worked Balloon Fest this past weekend - and what a weekend it was! Launches on Friday and Saturday mornings, Night Glows both evenings, Hit Machine Friday evening and The Beatniks Saturday, hundreds of runners at the Twilight Run, 99 cars for the Sunday Cruise In, and record crowds on Saturday!
We helped control the crowds with our Security Monitors and fed the hungry hoards of soccer folks at our concessions stands, raising several thousand dollars for the accounts of those who volunteered. We'll have final numbers toward the end of July as to how much will be applied to each volunteer's account - stay tuned.
Don't forget - our Fireworks Fundraiser is in full swing through next week! Go to our Fireworks! website to find out when you work, and what shifts are still available.
Meanwhile, enjoy your summer with as much music as possible! Remember, Oregon Crusaders performs TONIGHT at Tualatin High School at the Drums of Fire show, and there are many other local opportunities to hear live music, including the Lake Oswego Millennium Band (Irving plays with this group) and the Tualatin Valley Community Band (McKee plays with this group). Plus all the jazz at Jimmy Mak's, Ivories, Wilfs, and other clubs around town - there's no reason to not go hear music!
BTW, Happy Kitty says those bold, underlined words are links - click on them!

Balloon Festival Is Just Around the Corner!
It's time to get ready for Balloon Festival - we're one week away!
Please check out the schedules posted on the sidebar. We are obligated to provide Security Monitors for the entire Festival, for which we are compensated well. Remember, the money for the hours you work will be credited to your own Student Band Account, from which you may pay fees, buy band-related things (tuners, reeds, etc), or even pay toward next Spring's band trip!
We also have the opportunity to sell concessions to hungry athletes who are participating in the Balloon Festival 6v6 Soccer Tournament. A few shifts are still available for this as well.
To sign up for a shift (or a few shifts!) please click here to email McKee right away.
